“Settling in was so much smoother than I expected. The key worker took the time to understand my son's routine and preferences before he even started. He skips in every morning now.”

What local parents say
Nothing tells you more about a nursery than the families who are already there.
“My daughter has been at Nursery on the Green in Mitcham for two years and I cannot speak highly enough of the team. They genuinely know her, know what she loves, and celebrate every little milestone with us. It feels like a real community.”
“We visited four nurseries before choosing Nursery on the Green. The moment we walked in we knew. The staff were calm, the children were happy, and the spaces were thoughtfully set up. A year in, we have no regrets.”
Come and see us for yourself
A tour is the best way to know whether we are the right fit. Come and meet the team, see the rooms, and ask us anything.
Places are limited and we typically fill up several months in advance. The earlier you visit, the better your options.
Three things we would never change
Every nursery has a settling-in policy and an outdoor area. Here is what we actually care about, and what families keep coming back to tell us made the difference.

One person who truly knows your child
Every child has a dedicated key person from their very first day. They track development, lead settling in, and are your main point of contact. Not a policy box to tick - it is just how we work.

Outside every single day, whatever the weather
We believe outdoor play is non-negotiable. Every child has daily garden time, and our older children have regular Forest School sessions. Please do send them in wellies!

Everything on the plate was cooked this morning
Our cook prepares a fresh breakfast, a hot two-course lunch, and an afternoon snack every day. Seasonal menus, proper ingredients, every dietary need catered for. All included in your full-day fee.
Our flagship programme
Our 10-day calm start programme gives every child a structured, gentle transition into nursery life.
Defined stages, daily updates, and a built-in guarantee. If your child is not settled by day 10, we extend at no extra cost.
What makes us differentDesigned for every age

Things parents ask us
Common questions
We welcome babies from 3 months old through to school age at 5. Each age group has its own room with ratios and routines appropriate for that stage.
Yes. We accept the 15-hour universal funded entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds, and the 30-hour extended funded offer for eligible working families. We can also help families apply for Tax-Free Childcare.
We use a graduated settling-in approach over two to three weeks. You stay with your child initially, then gradually step back as they build confidence with their key worker. We move at your child's pace, not ours.
Both nurseries are open Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 6:30pm, 51 weeks of the year. We close for one week over Christmas.
Yes. All meals are cooked fresh on site each day - breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. We cater for dietary requirements and allergies. Menus change weekly and are posted in the nursery.
We use a secure app to share daily updates, photos, and observations. You'll hear about what your child ate, how they slept, and what they got up to - so you never miss a moment, even when you're at work.
